	Kentville Hockey School July 27 - July 31 Kentville Arena In Kentville this year, in our day school groups, we are pleased to be offering a program that incorporates three hours power skating for each group with Marie Bowness as well as our regular hockey school program. To maximize individual attention, every group will be limited to 22 players and 3 goaltenders. This school is open to boys and girls from ages 6 – 17. It consists of three separate schools divided by age group and a High-Performance Elite School for Bantam/Midget/High School players. Novice, Atom, and PeeWee/Bantam. Each group will have 12.5 hours on-ice time, spread over 5 days. There will be one structured Off-ice session for each age group daily. An excellent instructor to player ratio will be maintained in all sessions. Monday/Tuesday morning sessions will feature power skating with Marie Bowness. Marie is a former Canadain pairs skating champion who has become the leading power skating instructor in Atlantic Canada. Afternoon sessions Monday/Tuesday will have a strong focus on puck handling. This allows us to continue a strong emphasis on skating skills in day 1/2 but will see the puck utilized in all drills. Wednesday-Friday will see a continued focus on individual fundamental skills while introducing system related aspects critical for a player to become an accomplished Defenceman, Forward, or Goaltender. Separate defence, forward and goaltender drills will be conducted for each age group. At times, defencemen, forwards, and goaltenders will work apart and at times together. There are on-ice sessions only and they will be high intensity with many game situational drills. Sessions are planned for late afternoon to avoid conflicts with other evening sports. On-ice time: 7.5 hours. Cost: $220. Cost for Goaltenders: $150.
