	Pre-Christmas Hockey Schools December 21, 22 and 23 Halifax Forum/Civic Complex and St. Margarets Centre This school is focused on individual skills and is a great tune-up for the second half of the season. The sessions are high tempo with little down time. The schedule for these schools is designed to allow most players the opportunity to do more than one school (ie: power skating and puck handling/shooting and/or tactical). To maximize individual attention, every group will be limited to 26 players. This school is open to boys and girls from ages 4 – 17. Detailed schedule available in August. IP1 This school is for players with limited or no playing experience. The majority of players would be born in 2004/05. This school is excellent for kids that have Can Skate experience. The school will focus on the basic skills of skating, puck handling, passing and shooting. Past experience points to dramatic improvement for registrants in this school. On-ice time: 3 hours Cost: $90. IP2 This school is for players (born in 2003) who have completed a season in IP1. The school will focus on the basic skills of skating, puck handling, passing and shooting. Past experience points to dramatic improvement for registrants in this school. Novice/Atom Female Power Skating PeeWee/Bantam Female Power Skating Novice Power Skating Atom Power Skating Pee Wee/Bantam Power Skating These schools will focus on quick starts, stopping, acceleration, stride lengthening, crossovers, lateral movement, backward striding, pivoting, turning and transition. Marie Bowness, a former Canadian Skating Pairs Champion, will be the primary instructor for these schools. On-ice time: 3 hours Cost: $90. Novice Puckhandling/Shooting Atom Puckhandling/Shooting PeeWee Puckhandling/Shooting Bantam /Midget Puckhandling/Shooting These schools will focus on puck handling at high speed, puck protection, passing, one on one situations, deking, puck control in game situations, the mechanics of shooting, shooting power, accuracy, shooting in motion, one timers, positioning, and various shot options. On-ice time: 3 hours Cost: $90. Atom Tactical PeeWee Tactical Bantam /Midget Tactical Tactical sessions will be designed for forwards to work drills as forwards and defence as defencemen. There will be a lot of work done with forwards on attack options and defence on defence options as well as attack concepts. These sessions will include a lot of 1 on 1, 2 on 1 and 2 on 2 situations.
